Before and After!!

Lip Fillers FAQS

What is a lip filler?

Lip fillers typically use dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body. Hyaluronic acid fillers add volume to the lips and help hydrate the skin.

The results of lip fillers are typically visible immediately after the procedure, although there might be some initial swelling.

How is it done?

The procedure involves injecting the filler into specific areas of the lips to achieve the desired look. The injector will consider your facial structure, lip shape, and desired outcome.

What to expect during injection process?

We use topical anesthetic, there will be minimal discomfort during the procedure

How long is the injection process?

Lip filler injections are generally quick, often taking less than 30 minutes. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after the procedure.

How long do they last?

The longevity of results varies depending on the type of filler used and individual factors. Results usually last around 6 to 12 months, after which touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the effect. Lip fillers are not permanent. If you're unhappy with the results, they will naturally dissipate over time

What are the possible side effects?

  • Swelling and Bruising: Some swelling and bruising at the injection sites is common and typically resolves within a few days.
  • Discomfort: Mild discomfort or sensitivity at the injection sites might occur but is usually temporary.
  • Unevenness: There's a small chance of uneven results or lumps. Your injector can address these issues if they arise. Lumps also soften in time.

Lip Fillers

Our Expertise

Lip fillers, also known as lip augmentation or lip injections, are a cosmetic procedure involving the injection of dermal fillers into the lips to enhance their volume, shape, and overall appearance. These fillers are made from substances such as hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps retain moisture and provide structure to the skin.

The primary goal of lip fillers is to create fuller and more defined lips, improve symmetry, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth.

Key points to consider:

  1. Procedure: Lip filler injections are injected by trained injector. The procedure involves using a fine needle to inject the chosen dermal filler into specific areas of the lips.
  2. Types of Fillers: Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are the most commonly used for lip augmentation. These fillers are temporary and can last anywhere from several months to over a year, depending on factors such as the specific product used, individual metabolism, and lifestyle factors.
  3. Customization: A skilled practitioner will work with you to achieve your desired lip shape and size. They can tailor the treatment to create natural-looking results that complement your facial features.
  4. Recovery: Lip filler injections typically have minimal downtime. Some swelling, bruising, and redness at the injection site are common immediately after the procedure, but these effects usually subside within a few days.
  5. Temporary Results: The effects of lip fillers are not permanent. Over time, the body gradually metabolizes the filler, and the treated area returns to its previous state. This allows individuals to adjust the treatment or choose not to have further injections if desired.
  6. Risks and Considerations: Like any medical procedure, lip filler injections carry potential risks and side effects, including allergic reactions, infection, asymmetry, lumps, or prolonged swelling. Choosing a qualified and experienced practitioner and discussing your medical history and expectations is crucial to minimize these risks.

Hyaluronic Acid

What is Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body, primarily in the skin, connective tissues, and eyes. It is a glycosaminoglycan, which is a long chain of sugar molecules that helps to retain water and provide lubrication in various tissues. Hyaluronic acid plays several important roles in the body:

  1. Skin Hydration: One of the most well-known functions of hyaluronic acid is its ability to retain water. It can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, which helps keep the skin well-hydrated and plump. This makes it a popular ingredient in skincare products and dermal fillers to combat dryness and wrinkles.
  2. Joint Lubrication: In joints, hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant and shock absorber. It is found in the synovial fluid that surrounds the joints, where it helps reduce friction between bones and provides cushioning during movement.
  3. Wound Healing: Hyaluronic acid is involved in the wound-healing process. It helps regulate inflammation and encourages the growth of new blood vessels and tissue repair.
  4. Eye Health: In the eyes, hyaluronic acid is found in the vitreous humor and helps maintain the shape of the eyeball and keep the eye tissues lubricated.
  5. Collagen Production: It also plays a role in collagen synthesis, which is essential for maintaining the structure and elasticity of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid is used in various medical and cosmetic applications. In the field of cosmetics and skincare, it is commonly used in moisturizers, serums, and fillers to improve skin hydration and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In the medical field, hyaluronic acid injections can be used to treat joint disorders like osteoarthritis and can also be used during certain eye surgeries.

Healing process

Remember that everyone's healing process is unique, and individual experiences can vary. If you have concerns about your healing process or if you notice any unusual or persistent side effects, it's best to reach out to your healthcare provider who administered the filler for guidance.
